Dinner Only tickets
encourage participants to invite their spouse for
dinner. Be sure to provide some entertainment in case
they end up waiting. Have music playing in the banquet
room with appetizers available and if you really want to
impress, offer seated massages.
Beat the pro golfers can win a prize or double
their money if they get within the pro. Set this up on
a Par 3 that is 150-160 yards in length. Be sure to
have a volunteer near the green to measure.
Gamblers Hole draw a 10 ft circle around the
hole on a par 3 (150 160 yds long) and offer the
opportunity for golfers to double their money if they
get within the circle. Consider limiting to $50 to
avoid a big payout. Want to make the course really
happy? Give the payout in pro shop credit.
Statistically, only 25% of golfers even hit the green on
150 yd holes so this tends to be a fun, profitable
contest.
Super Ticket consider bundling all your special
events (mulligan, putting contest, raffle) into one
higher priced ticket. This prevents the players from
having to continually pull out their wallet. Create a
ton of value and price it at $20-$50
towards the higher
end if you offer a $50,000 putting contest or Million
Dollar shot.
Mulligans a popular sale item, golfers can buy
re-dos. Two, though, should be the limit available
for purchase for scoring reasons.
Raffle
sell raffle tickets both at the registration desk and
out on the course during the round. Remember not all
players dont check in at the registration desk so
asking them on the course while waiting on the tee if
they got their raffle tickets usually adds hundreds of
more dollars to the pot. Draw the names before golfers
finish to speed things up. Then at the banquet, simply
call off all names/ prizes and have everyone come up at
the same time to claim.
Scratch off tickets always a popular item,
especially while waiting for the banquet to get started,
scratch off tickets offer a fun way to generate
additional revenue. Some cards have big prize amounts
available (paid by the producer of the cards) and others
are designed to have golfers generate a score then you
award prizes for low scores.
Pledges players solicit pledges (eg. a dollar
amount per hole played or score) from family and
friends. Be sure to provide them with a pledge form and
have a tournament committee person manage.
Live Auction for big ticket items, live
auctions are the way to go. More revenue is generated
than with silent auctions. Using a professional
auctioneer is recommended to improve your results and
finish this as quickly as possible.
Silent Auction items are placed on tables with
bid sheets. Highest bidder wins! Contact Golf Connect
for information on how to have autographed sports
memorabilia made available to your event. |
